Commercial Leases - Checklist

This is a checklist to look for certain basic provisions when reviewing a commercial lease. It is not exhaustive. This article is a work in progress.

General Provisions

Landlord Covenants

  • Does it say that the premises are fit for the tenant's intended use now, without renovations other than as specifically described in the lease.
  • Does it say that the premises comply with all building code and applicable bylaws?
