Minority Village

photographer Rick Carlson.

We obtained government permission to give bags of noodles, cookies and candies to minority people in this small village. We had so much that we had to rent a van to carry it all.

The local government sent one of their representatives along with us. We picked him up on the way. Between him and a village elder, they did a very good making lists of who would receive each of the 120 packages and checked off names as each received theirs to ensure no one collected twice. They gave an introductory speech as did we. We made certain that we gave credit to the staff and partners of Cuelenaere Kendall Katzman & Watson as well as our friends for the funds that enabled this to happen.

Each of the red bags contains enough rice noodles for a week plus candy and cookies for children who would otherwise not likely see it.

The man in the blue checked shirt just right of centre is my wife's father. He enjoyed helping us along with some of Trang's brothers and sisters.
